There are just so many enemies amd it gets so hard. I tried to beat long war like 10 times on Ironman and always lose my campaign somewhere in the mid to late game.Wotc also adds ton of new systems that will make new players feel overwhelmed even outside of missions. War of the chosen is considerably harder than vanilla game and you will get your ass handed to you hard if you are new to series. Especially if you ae completely new to xcom.
